I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be showing some original pieces at the Society of Illustrators in New York City on October 13th in partnership with Winsor & Newton!
Winsor & Newton is a brand I’ve been using for my entire lifetime as an artist, so this partnership is quite meaningful. Alongside the launch of Winsor & Newton Pigment Markers, they’ve asked a number of talented artists and illustrators to create original pieces in the new medium under the theme Color Your City. Artists who I’m incredibly honored to be shown alongside!
See a recent interview on some pieces created with these markers on This is Colossal.
I hope to meet you at the Society of Illustrators in October! More info here.
My memories are filled with sounds, smells, and especially colors. The tiny sound of Swan Lake playing as I wound up my plastic ballerina who spun in her pink netted tutu. My jewelry box as a little girl was a treasure of mine. It’s where I not only kept as much costume jewelry as I could get my hands on, but also my daily treasures… marbles, smooth skipping rocks, dried flowers, drawings, coins, and weirdly, my favorite monopoly piece (the ship!). It was my little rose colored vault.
Looking back, the items I kept in my jewelry box are still very much relevant in my life. Ballerinas and the treasures of nature are some of my greatest pleasures.
My bedroom in New York makes me feel as if I’m living inside my own ballerina box. My walls clad in the perfect mysterious rose.
BEHR Paint helped me find the nostalgic color of my jewelry box: Dancing Rose. Do you have any color-filled memories? Find and share your color memory with me and BEHR at ColorAMemory.com
